Gyms and fitness
We design boutique gyms and fitness studios that justify a premium monthly fee, with high retention and an experience that low-cost chains cannot replicate.
Why the environment matters
The difference between a boutique gym with a waiting list and one struggling to fill up isn't the equipment.
Justified quota
A premium environment lets you hold a premium monthly fee without resistance. The space communicates its value before the client even takes their first class.
High retention
Members of well-designed boutique gyms stay. The environment creates an emotional connection that goes beyond the workout itself.
Community and belonging
A well-designed space communicates identity and creates a sense of community. That's what makes members recommend it to their friends.
WELL AP Certification
We apply design principles that directly impact motivation, performance, and well-being in training spaces.
What fitness operators ask us
What actually justifies a premium monthly fee?
Not the equipment, because any chain can buy it. What holds that fee is the feeling of walking into somewhere that does not look like a budget gym: a clear route through the space, changing rooms members do not avoid, acoustics that let people train without shouting, and lighting that flatters how a member sees themselves in the mirror. Those four things are design decisions, not purchases.
Can a gym be refurbished without closing?
Almost always. We phase the work zone by zone and use low-occupancy hours, usually nights and early mornings. The strength floor and the changing rooms are the two areas you should not touch at the same time. Full closure, when it is needed, is normally a matter of days.
What does WELL AP certification add to a training space?
WELL works on air quality, light, acoustics, thermal comfort and materials. In a gym that means enough air changes for intense classes, lighting that does not flatten the room, and surfaces that survive sweat and daily cleaning without ageing badly. It is the difference between a space that still feels looked after two years in and one that does not.
Do you also design the gym's brand and website?
Yes, and it is the most common brief. One team handles space, identity and website, so the tone of the venue and the tone of the sign-up page do not contradict each other. When they arrive separately, members notice the gap and conversion drops.
