A design studio is judged on its own websites too. The same rule applies to all four of ours: one action per page and nothing on it that does not earn its place.
Sector: Digital presence
Services: Web design & SEO, creative direction
Brief and objectives
- One studio recognisable across four sites, without designing four studios.
- A local edition for each market EOLOS works in, and one international edition.
- Each local site in its own language, with English available without a second set of URLs.
- Speed on a phone, where most of the traffic arrives.
- One route from every page to the brief.
Solution
A shared spine, not a shared page map
Studio, services, work and journal sit in the same order on all four. What differs is what each market needs on top: the Spanish and Swedish editions carry a sector hub, the Greek and international ones do not. The shape is shared, the depth is local.
Language without duplication
Each local site holds two languages on one URL, its own and English, so nothing is published twice and nothing competes with itself in search. The international edition is English only.
Art direction
One image treatment and one tone of voice across the four, so the work leads and the interface stays out of the way.
Technical implementation
Static hosting, self-hosted fonts and responsive images sized to the slot they fill, so a page stays light on a phone and the layout does not move while it loads.
Result
- Four sites that read as one studio.
- A local edition per market and one international edition.
- One route from every page to the brief.
Key points
- One spine, four editions, local depth where the market needs it.
- Two languages per local site, one set of URLs.
- Speed and SEO decided in the design, not bolted on after.
